IN GOD WE TRUST

From “Cheers Mother Fucker” to “Kiss Me Where I Pee,” these are just some of the dry, curt and hilarious inscribed pendants by Brooklyn-based brand, In God We Trust. A name decorated on U.S currency to Jean Shepherd’s title compilation of short stories, the name exemplifies owner Shana Tabor as a downright all American girl from Concord, New Hampshire.

Inspired by "The Witches of Eastwick" to "The Lady Killers," In God We Trust exudes vintage Americana and its cabinets of curiosities. Since graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology in jewellery design, Tabor opened her first In God We Trust shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2005. Today, the 33-year-old Tabor has expanded her mini-retail empire to SoHo (2007) and the Lower East Side (2008). In eight years the brand has expanded from jewellery to include clothing, interior design, and the latest in-house label of custom-made commitment and wedding bands called, “Let’s Get Serious.”

With a roster of celebrity followers to boast (Alexa Chung is a fan) and having just collaborated with Brooklyn-based everyday goods shop, Kauffman Mercantile, there’s clearly no such thing as “free time” in this Pisces schedule. So visit their Greenpoint studio and say “hi,” and maybe pick up a few necklaces from their “Sweet Nothing” series, “Sweet Tits.”
